What Tuition Covers
40+ Total Rehearsals & Concerts
The CYSO Orchestras are grateful to extend the rehearsal schedule for the 2025-2026 season, holding weekly rehearsals from September to May on the campus of the Claremont Community School of Music. Students will participate in four total performance experiences: two at Pomona College's Bridges Hall of Music, and two at the Claremont United Church of Christ.
Dedicated Section Instructors
Students will receive targeted coaching during weekly rehearsals from professional, experienced orchestral musicians.
Student Leadership & Volunteer Opportunities
Students seeking volunteer or National Honor Society hours will have the opportunity to mentor younger ensembles and develop leadership skills in a collaborative environment. CCSM is also pleased to be a part of the President's Volunteer Service Awards program.
Chamber Music Program
Building on last year’s success, we are excited to continue offering chamber music experiences for students in our more advanced ensembles. Selected students will receive personalized coaching from our section instructors and will have the opportunity to perform in public concerts. While not all students will participate in formal chamber groups, all orchestra members will benefit from the ensemble skill-building that supports chamber music readiness over time.
Orchestral Technique & Theory Integration
Our rehearsals will include focused instruction on ensemble skills, musical interpretation, and music theory.
Student Composer Initiative
Students interested in composing or arranging music will have the opportunity to participate in CCSM's Composition & Arranging Workshop, wherein student composers and arrangers will receive personalized feedback and guidance on their original or arranged works throughout the year in a workshop setting. This experience will culminate in hearing these student works during rehearsals with the CYSO Orchestras. Interested students can enroll in this special extension of the CYSO Orchestras program through the Claremont Community School of Music's Composition & Arranging Workshop (available for enrollment soon).
