Advanced Full Orchestra – Strings, Winds, Brass, Percussion
  • Strings: Confident shifting; fluency in multiple positions; vibrato, strong tone, solid intonation
  • Winds/Brass: Comfortable with complex rhythms, key signatures, and extended techniques
  • Percussion: Ability to read music fluently; experience with multiple percussion instruments
  • All Students: Strong sight-reading ability and ensemble skills required

CYSO performs advanced orchestral literature requiring technical proficiency and musical maturity.

New and returning students must audition every year for membership.

CYSO Rehearsal Schedule

CYSO rehearses on Tuesday evenings from 7:15-8:30 p.m. in the William J. Huff Recital Hall at Claremont Community School of Music, 951 W. Foothill Blvd., Claremont, CA 91711. CYSO is grateful to Claremont Community School of Music for the use of its rehearsal facilities.
