Auditions are required for entry into all groups (Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra, Prelude Symphonic Ensemble, Enharmonic Strings, and Da Capo Strings). There is a $25 non-refundable audition fee per student. ALL STUDENTS IN EACH GROUP MUST RE-AUDITION EACH YEAR to be re-admitted.
Students interested in Da Capo Strings (DCS) are only required to prepare one (1) minute of a solo piece of choice. No scales or excerpts are required.

Auditions for the 2026-2027 season will take place from 5:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026. Download the 2026-2027 Audition Packet for your instrument below, and check back soon for the Audition Application!
We highly encourage our student members to supplement their academic-year music experience with a school music program and/or private lessons, if possible.
The CYSO Orchestras take careful consideration into decisions made based on each auditioning applicant's performance. We kindly advise that students refrain from auditioning unless they can commit to the program, attending ALL concerts and rehearsals. Check out our Rehearsal & Concert Schedules here.
